The Buena Vista Museum of Natural History is a unique museum housing many one-of-a-kind fossils found right here in Bakersfield's foot hills. Within the 16,000 sq. ft. of exhibits visitors will view rare Miocene fossils, African, Asian and North American Animal mounts, Dinosaurs, Native American Artifacts with a life size interpretive Yokuts family dwelling area, gem and minerals, a significant display of petrified woods and a interactive hands-on Discovery Center called the Oh! Zone designed for children, but it has something for all ages to enjoy.
